Summary:
The position of Buyer II has been established to enhance the profitability of the business by performing purchasing activities necessary to ensure the timely delivery of specified materials and services for Baker Electric jobs at competitive pricing.
This is an exempt position and individual contributor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Assumes job duties and responsibilities of the Buyer I.
Purchase materials and construction supplies within budget guidelines, negotiated pricing levels, services, and terms.
Perform purchasing activities for all procurement related matters.
Consult with suppliers concerning late deliveries and drive timely solutions.
Provide electrical material, products, equipment knowledge and guidance throughout the organization to maximize supply chain and field efficiencies.
Proactively follow up on material estimates and necessary approvals from the Director of Procurement.
Negotiate material quotes utilizing the estimates and collaborate with the Director of Procurement to secure most competitive bids timely.
Challenge all costs that will improve company revenue.
Devise and use strategic sourcing strategies.
Discover profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships.
Research historical pricing and trends to ensure best price.
Track and report key functional metrics with material quotes.
Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of procurement activities.
Foresee alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients.
Perform risk management for supply contracts and agreements.
Control spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
Drive and encourage Baker Values and Strategic Plans.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Procurement.
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION:
3-8 years of experience in the electrical distribution, purchasing or related professional clerical background.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Negotiation, or related degree a plus.
Proficiency with MS.
Valid CA Driver's License is required.
PAY TRANSPARENCY:
The starting salary for this opportunity range is listed.
Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards.
